Science High School

Scientific facts are presented from different perspectives at Mercan Koleji Science High School, where laboratory and application studies are emphasized in science programs. It is mandatory for each student to participate in a project study from at least one of the mathematics or science courses during the learning process. Students conduct their project and seminar studies individually or in groups, according to their interests and abilities, under the supervision of their teachers. Additionally, the opportunities provided for participation in Science Olympics and TUBITAK Project Competitions increase students' success. As a result of all the studies and applications, the goal of Mercan Koleji students is to achieve 100% ÖSYS success. At Mercan Koleji Science High School, young people who are interested in science and mathematics acquire the ability to use scientific research methods and technological facilities, discuss theoretical topics from different aspects, and participate in scientific, social, and cultural studies, becoming individuals who can contribute to the development of Turkey. Mercan Koleji students take all their lessons in electronic classrooms where all kinds of technological facilities are provided, and they can quickly access the information they need for their projects and homework via the internet. Students' intense academic work is supported by a wide range of social, cultural, artistic, and sports activities. Educational clubs and teams contribute to students' social development and also provide opportunities for them to improve themselves in different areas. Students are directed to and supported in activities that will help them gain social awareness. The Measurement and Evaluation Unit plays an active role in following all innovations in the field of education, enabling Mercan Koleji Science High School to achieve its educational goals and preparing students for TYT and YKS in a conscious manner. Teachers work with students, starting from 9th grade, on intensive TYT and YKS preparation and individual or group study sessions after school and on weekends. The MERCAN EDUCATION SYSTEM (MES) is applied. At Mercan Koleji Science High School, where great importance is attached to foreign language education, an intensive English program is provided, and students' language skills are developed through studies. Additionally, German language education is provided as a second language starting from 9th grade.

In classrooms equipped with the latest technology, which enables the implementation of all activities that will take students beyond their age, there are interactive smart boards with touch-sensitive LED screens and computers. Our students learn the scientific and technological infrastructure of the future in the 1500 M2 TECHNOLOGY AND LIFE CENTER, which includes laboratories, informatics, coding, and robotics workshops, as well as visual arts and music workshops, a modern "Z" library, a semi-olympic swimming pool, and indoor and outdoor sports areas, and they continue their education in a spacious and comfortable environment that quickly and accurately meets their scientific, social, cultural, sporting, and artistic needs.
